BT farewell to the Boelyn- Rio Fernidand
I have just watched this for the second time and hve got to say, Rio doesn't feel like one of our own.
Perhaps it is just me, but I felt insulted by his "If t hadn't been for West Ham, I could not have been a Manc."
Like Martin Peters, Jermain Defoe, Joe Cole, Frank Lampard Jnr. And Scott Parker. You are not one of ours.
Not like Bobby Zamora will always be.
Don't ask for a rationale, because there is none. This is how I feel.

All this judas stuff is ok for a bit of pantomime fun but to take it seriously is a bit sad.

Didn't Bobby Moore want a transfer to Spurs? Does that mean he's not West Ham?

Ha - yeah ok, not everyone....but I'd say the majority were in favour. I think there was some supposed transfer market crash about to come in, and people scaremongering that the arse of football about to fall out and we'd done the right thing.

There was a comments that said "£18 million for a defender who cannot defend"...never forget that one.

I bet it wasn't 'everyone' was it?

I'm really shocked that a bloke who played over 450 games for Man Utd over a decade, won 6 Premier League trophies and the Champions League feels he's not that West Ham any more.

When I first come on this site my old man told me to check out the Rio Ferdinand thread where everyone said what a great deal we got as he couldn't defend and was well over rated.

Yup, this is how he said it.

Not like the original poster tells it.

And most of Millwall's all time idols are ex-West Ham youth or supporters ;-)

Re: BT farewell to the Boelyn- Rio Fernidand
Brooking who himself said he was going to ask for a transfer?

At the end of the day ALL players who have played with us have had connections or desires to be elsewhere, for me it is their behaviour and how they talk about the club during or after their time here.

Bonzo may have started at CHARLTON ATHLETIC and managed Millwall but he'll always be one of our favourite sons.

Rio started with us and played the vast majority of his career elsewhere but he has ALWAYS spoke fondly of his time and is a self-confessed fan in his youth. That makes him alright in my book.

Personal opinion though isn't it? I think Curbs is a cunt and don't consider him West Ham whereas lots do.

Rio and Anton were from Peckham so you could say they were both Wall. Bonzo manager Wall? Brooking is Mr West Ham for me.

Payet said Joe Cole's love of all things West Ham convinced him to join us?

Got no problem with Rio, but I don't see him as West Ham at all.

Re: BT farewell to the Boelyn- Rio Fernidand
He actually came across grateful that we gave him his chance and actually said if it wasn't for us, he wouldn't have gone to Leeds and played his first Champs League game and then went on to play for Man United.

What do you want him to say?

If he said that he's a fucking no mark cunt. End of.

I, however, was amused at his coating off the Germans for being unsporting cunts and whoever organised it.

An embarrassing affair all in all.
